NON-SURGICAL PERIO TREATMENT

Periodontal disease (gum disease) is an all too common problem. Approximately 50% of adults over 30 in the U.S. have some form of gum disease. This percentage increases to 70% in adults over 65. In the earliest stage, gum disease is classified as gingivitis. This condition is easily reversible by a professional dental hygiene visit and improved home care. When gum disease progresses beyond this point, other care is needed. A dental “cleaning” is no longer appropriate to properly treat these stages of gum disease. In these circumstances, non-surgical periodontal treatment is required. This treatment consists of thoroughly removing all deposits formed on your teeth below the gumline. This treatment is performed over the course of two visits with anesthesia. The procedure leaves the teeth and gums in a “clean” state to allow the gums to heal and inflammation to resolve. Afterward, patients return to the office on a 3-month basis to maintain a healthy gum status.

    • I have been seeing Dr Spence for more than 10 years, I think I'm ready to say something about that. I can not image having to go anywhere else, everyone there has been nice to me and my family, the care has been best I've could have asked for.
